So long sweet summer...

I hate to say it but I think that summer is winding down. Makes me sad because I don't feel like we have really done anything this summer. Our only big event was going to Ohio for a week, which was great! Wish we had more memories of the summer. It went by waaaay too fast.

Last weekend was Amy's Bachelorette Party, that was a lot of fun. Got to see some of my college and high school friends whom I miss dearly. It was great to get out and have some fun with the girls. It's been a while since we have all seen each other. Amy is getting married in November I can't believe it's only a few short months away. Last week Sunday, we went to Brandon to play some golf with my dad's side of the family. We have all gotten a lot closer since the passing of my grandmother and my uncle Bruce. It sucks that it took something like that to bring us together but I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, my aunt Rhonda was involved in a farming accident with an auger. They had to amputate a part of her left leg. She is a strong woman and is very encouraging. Please send prayers for a speedy recovery her way. God has a plan, we just have to have faith in the process.

We saw Gannon's cartiologist on Wednesday and things are definitely looking good! He didn't really hear his murmur any more and was just have to see him again when G is 2 years old, not too shabby.

The Brown County Fair was this week. My work had a booth out there so I think I made an appearance almost every day this week. We went out there on Tuesday with the PC Football coaches and their families. It was a good night, we enjoyed some fair food! Great in my belly, bad on my ego. My sister came up to Aberdeen on Friday and we went to The Band Perry concert. Good fun, but a complete disaster. It was raining, everything and I mean EVERYTHING got muddy. I wish I had the picture from my sister's camera. YUCK! Yesterday, my parent's came up to join us and we went to the fair again. Good time.

I don't know if everyone knows this, but Brad is helping out the Presentation College football team as the Defensive Line coach. We struggled a little bit with finding a schedule that works for everyone but I think we are getting by. We will figure it out, we always do.

But, I think that I am going to make some baby food for Gan Man and maybe Brad ;) I don't really have a good picture to post this time. I will find one and post it later.

Thanks for reading!

It's been WAAAY too long...

Why hello :)

I am so sorry about not keeping up with this. I guess I thought life was going to get easier when Gannon got bigger, turns out I was completely wrong!

Gannon is almost 8 months old now. How time flys. He is crawling around like crazy, or I guess his version of crawling which looks similar to an army or bear crawl. Oh well, it's cute. He is showing interest in pulling himself up on objects but like I said its just interest. We go back to the heart doctor on the 17th and we will see what comes out of that. He started at daycare again. Got a little cold right away but it's good for him. Even after a week of being there, his social skills shot through the roof. He was babbling and talking more and started crawling more. Maybe group daycare is so bad after all.

Brad is at softball this weekend. This is only the third time this summer which isnt so bad. I am kinda lonely. I need to clean the house. Finding the motivation to do it is another story.

Things have been crazy at work. We had our annual road race two weekends ago. And swimming lessons are going to start up again so, we are having YMCA Splash Event, and a Family Fun Night. This is ridiculous. But hey, it makes the time fly. I am having a few issues with some of my staff so I guess that we will see what comes out of that.

Last week, we were in Ohio visiting Brad's family. It was a fun time. We swam a lot and Gannon loved it! It was a fun trip. Seeing his family is always fun.

We will be in Sioux Falls next weekend for my best friends bachelorette party and to hang out with my family. But, I think I should get back to finding that motivation to clean, oh, and watch Brothers and Sisters, I'm obsessed! I will leave you with a picture of G in Ohio!

Sweet Summer Time!

Well, I figured I should probably post now that I finally have some things to report. I think this blog did nothing but make everyone aware how lame we are :)

Let's see... last week we didn't do a lot heck of a lot. This week, we had Gannon's six month doctor's appointment. He got some shots which he did not appreciate at all! But we were talking to the doc about how much Gannon spits up still. He prescribed him with a low dose acid reflux medicine. If that doesn't work then we are going to try a higher one. G is still on am acid reflux formula which helped a little in the beginning. We will see how it goes. We also were told after Gannon got sick when he was two months old, that he has a heart murmur that was slightly abnormal but nothing to worry about. We had to make another appointment with the pediatric cartiologist who is from Sioux Falls in August. He comes to Aberdeen every other month. Hopefully we can get some more answers.

In other news, we will be going to Ohio at the end of July to visit Brad's family, which is definitely exciting because we miss them a lot. Gannon has changed so much since they have seen him last. I only have a few days of vacation left this year but it will all work out. We cannot wait! Neither can G :)

The lady at work gave us her old highchair this week at work for free! Woohoo. I re-did the fabric and made some other updates. It was quite the project but the whole thing cost $12! I am becoming quite the saver.

OTHER GREAT NEWS, we had applied to receive some finanical assistance from Avera after Gannon's hospital stay when he was sick. The bills were just piling up from that hospitalization and birthing him. I got a letter in the mail on Thursday that said Avera will be paying off 80% of our bills. That was such a relief! I hope some day I can give back to them. They will never know how much that means to us.

We also found a new babysitter. Courtney will be leaving us soon so we found this lady who just subs as a cycling trainer at the YMCA. She is starting a new daycare that will be opening in August. She is only charging us $90 a week! We will be saving about $140 a month. That is crazy to think that it would save us about $1600 a year!

Tomorrow, Brad and I are in a kickball tourney if it doesn't rain! It has rained almost every day this week. I think it should be a fun time. Tommorrow night, we are going out for my birthday which is on Monday. Goodness, I am going to be 24.

But I think I am going to take a shower. Gannon is already in bed and hopefully he will sleep through the night tonight like he has done the last two nights. Tonight is my night so everyone cross your fingers.

I will try to get some new pictures soon. LOVE YOU ALL!

I don't know what to call this one... [Insert your own title here] :)

Welp. I am very sorry about not posting in a while.

This last week was a total blur. I have a lot of stuff going on at work. We are preparing for our annual Bull Run which is a 1/2 marathon, 10K, and 5K in July. On Friday, a co-worker and myself drove the routes again to make sure of the mileage and if there are any problems, that took forever! But I think we are good to go now. There use to be two event directors for the Bull Run and now there's only one. So, being the nice person I am... I like to help her out. I have learned a lot about event planning which everyone can always get better at. (Megan, how is my grammar on that one! That sounds weird, but whatev.)

In other news, I decided to run a 1/2 marathon in September. Actually, its on Brad's birthday. Brad and I decided that I needed a goal and that was the perfect one. It is in Sioux Falls. I think that it has definitely motivated me to exercise and get going! I am also in Bootcamp which started last week. Its two days a week and it offically kicked my butt :) I forget how good it feels to workout. I should have listened to Brad a long time ago! (I really hate to admit that).

Gannon is busy being Gannon. We got an exersaucer (sp?) for Gannon on Friday, I was driving by a garage sale in our neighborhood and I saw one. I only had four dollars on me and the lady doing the sale said that it was good enough. She really wanted all of her stuff to go to young families for a good price. So, I brought it home, cleaned it up, and he loves it! He is getting bored with playing on the ground. And for us, its easier when he isn't rolling in the 6 foot radius around where we originally placed him :) We don't plan to use it too much, we weren't even going to spend the money to buy one but this was a good deal. Also, a lady that we work with is going to give us her highchair which is A-MAZ-ING! She no longer has grandkids that will need it. You know us, all about saving money!

Bradley played softball on Monday and Thursday. I am not even sure how they did. How horrible is that! I can't keep up with it anymore. We are really getting into watching TV series on Netflix. Our current favorite is Prison Break. But, we are coming down to the end of that series, all 80 episodes. Gotta find something else we can watch. Any suggestions? By the way, I totally think everyone should get Netflix, there is no need for cable after that! Actually, we do need cable so we can see LeBron James lose tonight. Ha.

The craftier side of me is starting to come out again. We have a couple of weddings, birthdays, and parties to go to this summer so I decided to get creative and make some things instead of buy them. But I love the things I made so much I might have to keep them. They look like this...

Which turned into ....

If you haven't figured it out yet, they are picture holders made out of paper binders. I love them and I think that I am going to invest in some more ideas and maybe sell them :) They are easy to make and I like to think I am pretty creative. We will see what come out of it.

But again, I hope that I can post sooner rather than later but no promises.

Oh, and I am trying to figure out why the comments don't work. I read on the internet that there are a lot of people having the same problem.

Sunday Funday...

Well, Brad and I went on our date night last night which was fun. I am hoping that we can do it again soon. Although, I do not enjoy paying for a babysitter, it was nice to get out for a while.

There is not a whole lot to report today. We did go to the park again and this one had a baby swing, which Gannon loved! He didn't know what to think of it at first but it was neat to see his reaction. We went down the slide a few times and got our hair all static-like. It was funny. It will be fun to go there when he is able to do more things. I think he will enjoy the park a lot!

Another new thing we tried today was a sippy cup. He played with it more than anything. We just filled it with some water and let him go. He didn't know what to make of that either but we will see what comes of it. Our next big purchase I think will be a highchair. He is almost too big for the Bumbo chair. His chubby little legs don't really fit anymore! He had homemade baby food for the first time tonight and I think he likes it more than the jarred stuff. He is really getting the hang of it. That has made my life easier, thank goodness. It's not such a chore anymore.

I don't really know too much about the week ahead. Brad has a few softball games and I have a CPR class I have to teach. My friend Lyndi is getting married on Saturday in Sioux Falls and Brad might have a softball tournament in Russell, MN but we haven't decided if we are going to be able to make any of those. We will just see how the week goes first, I guess.

That is all for now. I will leave you with a picture of G swinging at the park :)

Gotta Love Lazy Weekends...

Finally... we get to have a lazy weekend. We have done a whole lot of nothing and I am loving it. Gannon let us sleep in till 9am, whoop whoop. Brad went to work this morning for a little bit and I went to some rummage sales with my friends Ashley and Marisa. It was quite entertaining. I got a lot of stuff for Gannon. Ashley's cousins where having a garage sale and they have two boys that are older than G but had TONS of stuff, so that was great. We also got a few toys that he played with all afternoon!

We got around to cleaning the house a bit and doing some much needed laundry. We will finish that up tomorrow. I think we got a babysitter tonight and I think we are going on date night! Another positive.

Other than that, some good things are happening today, my friend Bri got engaged! I am jealous (hint, hint Bradley). It's Grancy's birthday and it is also my friend Ashley's birthday.

But I need to shower and get ready for tonight. Have a good one!

I will leave you with a "lazy" picture of G...

Don't make fun of his developing double chin :)

Nothing too special...

There is not a lot to report today. I worked pretty late, I had my last Lifeguard Training (finally). We are planning on staying around here this weekend, which will be absolutely amazing! We haven't done that in a few weeks now because of my uncle passing away, cousin's graduations, and the Cities trip last week. We gotta get some house cleaning done for sure and I think Brad is going to help a friend move into their new house.

But on a different note, it's my parents 26th anniversary today! Way to go! Hopefully they had a good night.

That's all I really have for now! I will leave you with a video that Brad took while cooking dinner :)
